Immersed in Icelandic Light: A Summer Stay at Panorama Glass Lodge

Living Inside the View

West Iceland is full of cinematic landscapes, but nothing quite prepares you for what it feels like to be nestled inside them. The Panorama Glass Lodge offers one of the most immersive and surreal stays I’ve ever experienced as a travel photographer and guest.

Positioned to face the coastline, distant mountains and open sky, the lodge is a fully glass-fronted cabin that brings Iceland’s natural drama into your bedroom. I visited in June, bringing the golden evening light through the windows from 9pm until 3 in the morning. Witnessing the oranges and reds of the sunset and sunrise was so magical, the angry looking clouds reflecting off of the glass and illuminating the black mountains behind the lodge.

What It’s Like to Stay in a Glass Cabin in Iceland

The design of the Panorama Glass Lodge is extremely well thought out. Every element inside the cabin is minimalist and cosy, designed to enhance rather than distract from the view. Though you definitely get to experience the viking vibe through the decor and black interior.

The bed sits directly beneath a glass ceiling and walls, offering the most glorious, uninterrupted views. With Iceland’s midnight sun casting an orange glow through the cabin into the early hours, it felt timeless and ethereal. The cabin has a private outdoor hot tub and deck with a net that you can take an outdoor nap on. It also has a unique sauna to offer moments of warmth and stillness between your Icelandic adventures. The remote location also means near total silence — just the passing birds and faint noise of the water.

If you’re looking for a luxury Iceland stay that blends modern comfort with raw landscape, this is it. Ideal for couples, solo travellers, and anyone seeking nature without compromise.
